How to set-up
1. Sz’Kwa is played on a circular board with four semi-circles around the edges and a circle in the middle. Lines indicate permitted moves.
2. Each player selects 20 BEADs the colour of their choice. BEADs start off the board.
3. Players decide who begins the game by rolling a die.
How to play
1. In turns, players place a BEAD on any vacant intersection on the board.
2. Once all the BEADs are placed on the board, players can move one BEAD each turn, along the lines indicating permitted moves.
3. Players capture BEADs by surrounding it so that their opponent cannot move the BEAD.
4. A player can only make one capture per turn.
5. Captured BEADs are removed from the board.
How to win
To win the game, a player must capture all their opponent’s BEADS.
History
Sz'Kwa is a two-player abstract strategy game coming from Taiwan. It is a go, weiqi, or baduk variant. The Sz'Kwa board is not a normal square board like go or weiqi. Instead, the board is circular in design. The same board is used by Watermelon Chess and one of the ancient Roman Bear games
